There are around 40 people in our US office. We work in the usual cube farm environment, the product development guys sit between accounting and marketing. The technical service sits next to the customer care department. Editing and documentation sit across the way from our web development bullpin. We're one big happy family.
We've been known to pop up out of one of our cubes like a little meerkat and share something interesting with someone on the other side of our cube, or in another department. But in an office as busy as ours, this is not always the best way to share something. Email and IM tend to not always translate very well either.
Which is why we decided to create a communal RSS feed that allowed everyone to contribute and read.
Using this combined feed has really cut down on daily emails back and forth and has led to some interesting new blogs I never would have found had it not been for my fellow Palo Alto Software RSS contributors.
