I've been doing some research lately on creating *good* PowerPoint presentations, particularly presentations for business plan pitches and also presentations to help teach business planning.
What I've found is a lot of critics. Everyone knows what bad PowerPoint looks like. Everyone can point to a million bad presentations. From Seth Godin and his "really bad powerpoint" manifesto to Guy Kawasaki and his section in The Art of the Start on presentations and pitching. Everyone's a critic.
So, where are the examples of great PowerPoint presentations? If everyone knows that PowerPoint and lists of bullets are inherintly evil, show me what's good.
The best I've found so far is Cliff Atkinson's beyond bullets blog. His book, methodology and blog are excellent. Probably the most valuable thing on the Beyond Bullets blog is the example presentation, 5 Ways to Reduce PPT Overload.
Is there anything else out there? Other examples of great presentations? I'm looking, but finding mostly critics.
BTW, I tried to recall this link today, and found it thanks to a blog cross post!
I know it's once again antithetical to what you were looking for (GOOD examples of PPT), but it's still hilarious!
I will make a point here though; the biggest problem with PPT is often not with the presentation itself, but with the REHEARSAL (or lack thereof). Delivery is usually the most important area for improvement.
